What our Sope Creek Teachers think about the new Hover Cams being in there room!!

KINDERGARTEN:

~I would love to have a Hover Cam document camera! It would be very useful to project books, items, etc. so that all could see as I teach!”

~“I would love to use one in my classroom! It would be extremely helpful in Language Arts as well as Math and Science!”

FIRST GRADE:

~“WOW!!! How exciting to have a document camera in my classroom!!! I would use it in many different ways. I would like to use it when showing the children a poem in a book, so we can all look at it on the big screen & talk about the rhythm and rhyme in words they see. I would use it to show in looking at little objects that we need to label... that would allow the whole group to see that small thing bigger on the Smart board screen. I would use it as a tool to project a paper up on the screen instead of having to run copies for each student to follow along when teaching concepts. I would also use it for math manipulatives to show the children how their models should look after giving them time to manipulate their objects. I have TONS of ideas in which I would use the document camera in my room, so if you need more, just ask. :) Thank you SO much for purchasing these for our classrooms. They will be such a WONDERFUL technology tool for the children.”

~This would be very helpful in the classroom. One way I would use it would be for Writer's Workshop. The class could see their writing and we could give Glows and Grows and see what good writing is in 1st grade. Thanks you!”

SECOND GRADE:

~Yes, we would love the technology that the Hover Cam would offer to better differentiate our instruction. Students with special needs all learn differently. Some are visual learners, auditory, or hands on learners. The Hover Cam would be a great way for us to deliver instruction in the visual way while providing auditory instruction. It would also provide a way to model examples for students to better understand concepts!”

~I would love a document camera for my room. I have checked one out of the library and find it extremely useful in showing my class examples of writing, revising of writing, and pages from books that I am not able to copy because of copy laws. Used one while teaching in China 10 years ago and can't believe that we do not have them.

~We would LOVE to have one of the document cameras in our classroom. It would be great for presenting material to kids that would be too small for them to see such as modeling manipulative use or showing pictures or diagrams. We very much appreciate you considering us. You are always so generous, and it really makes a difference in our everyday classroom experience. THANK YOU!!!”

~“The Hover Cam is an excellent tool for classroom teachers/students because: *We can put a book on the smart board. *It is wonderful for editing student work and celebrating student work *Manipulatives are used to demonstrate many math operations *It replaces the overhead projector which takes up lots of floor space *Handwriting Instruction. I am sure there are many more things I will discover if I have one in my classroom full time. Thank you for considering this additional piece of technology for our classroom.”

~“The Hover Cam will help to eliminate the need for copies by projecting the original document or book page in a single location as the class follows along. Also, students themselves can use the document camera to present their own work and ideas to the rest of the class. Sounds rally great. Again, thank you.”

~“This tool would be very beneficial to my classroom. The Hover Cam T3 will provide the opportunity to show my class how to complete a center activity all at one time. Everyone will be able to see and participate. This will increase my instructional time and reduce stress amongst my students. I will also be able to display enlarged excerpts from books, magazines, and articles for my students to critique. This will also help my students to bridge the gap between disciplines as a whole group. The possibilities are many.”

THIRD GRADE:

~Having the large screen images of books, worksheets, maps, homework, etc. would be very helpful in working collectively on a task. Thank you!”

~“I can't tell you how beneficial this would be for classroom use. One example that comes to mind is the ability to use any text/novel a student may be reading and being able to do a class read in addition to showing how basic grammar lessons show up in their reading. I would love to have one!”

SPECIALS

~I would love a document camera. The ways I could use it are endless. There are so many times that I have mumbled to myself, "If I only had an Elmo, I could...." Some of the ways I would use it: show small illustrations from books, small print in books, demonstrations involving

small 3-dimensional objects, math manipulatives, displaying student work, ... Essentially, it will give my students a better view of helpful information. Thank you again for the possibility!”

~“Document Cameras would be very useful tools that could be used on a daily basis. Cameras would allow for ALL students to be able to see a student's work that he or she may be presenting to the class. There are many times that students present information and share their work. It would be great for the students to be able to see the work as the students talk. Cameras will also allow me to share books and magazines that are in limited supply. The visual learners would benefit because they are actually seeing the information and not just hearing me read it. Document cameras are an instructional tool that will allow me to share pictures and information each day without the need of a scanner (which are hard to find working). I am very excited about the opportunities a document camera will provide... no more huddling around a small picture and passing the little book around. Everyone will be able to see!”
