WELCOME TO FAST CLASSES
Welcome to the Sope Creek Foundation FAST (Foundation After School Time) Program. We are excited to offer opportunities for students to participate in an after-school enrichment program. All FAST classes, with the exception of Kid Chess, are taught exclusively by Sope Creek teachers. A portion (15%) of the class cost goes back to the Sope Creek Foundation. These funds go directly back to our school to pay for special programs, curriculum enrichment opportunities, and extra learning materials needed throughout the school year. The remaining portion of the class cost goes directly to our teachers!
Please read on for more information about the FAST program as well as important policies and procedures for participating in FAST classes. You can access the Master Schedule and view classes offered this semester by clicking the links in the menu at the top of this website. Any other questions or inquiries regarding FAST classes can be emailed to sopecreekfast@gmail.com. Be sure to follow @sopecreekfoundation and @sopecreekes on Instagram for updates and reminders about the FAST program.

How to set up your account and register for FAST Classes:
- Visit Sope Creek’s Foundation website: www.sopecreekfoundation.org
- Click on the REGISTER/LOGIN button and update your family’s information.
- This step must be completed before you can register for any classes! We recommend setting up your account BEFORE registration week to save time when registering.
- Classes will fill up quickly!
- Beginning December 5th at 8 PM, click the FAST CLASS SIGN UP button on the main page or under QUICK LINKS.
- Follow directions to complete registration and submit payment.
- You will receive an email confirming your registration. If you don't receive an email immediately, you should click on the MY ACCOUNT option in the navigation bar and select Previous Orders. If the order did not go through, you are not registered.
- There is a no-cancellation and no-refund policy. Once a registration for a FAST class is completed and payment submitted, all registrations are final even if the registration window is still open.
- During registration week, if a class is not meeting the enrollment minimum (5 or less students) it may not be taught that semester. If this happens, you will be contacted by the Sope Creek FAST Committee so you can choose a replacement class if desired while the registration window is still open. A refund for the class that was closed due to low enrollment will be issued and mailed to you at the address saved in your account.
- Once registration ends, no students can be added to a class regardless if there is an opening in a FAST class.
- Registration for Kid Chess is done separately at kidchess.com. Register now through January 8, 2023! REGISTER HERE FOR KID CHESS!

FAST Carpool/Walker Pick Up Procedures:
- Walkers will be dismissed from the front of the school only before FAST carpool begins. Walkers must be met by an adult at the front of the building.
- FAST Carpool dismissal will happen at the front of the school using our normal carpool lanes.
- FAST Carpool pick up will be from 3:45-3:55.
- Students not picked up by 3:55 will be sent to ASP and parents will be charged for ASP.
- All FAST students being picked up in the carpool line must have and display a Sope Creek Carpool Number (this is the same tag used for regular school car rider dismissal).
- If a family does not already have a Sope Creek Carpool Number, then the enrolling adult will need to come to the front office to pick one up.
- Only the enrolling adult with ID can pick up the carpool number.
- You will be asked to select a dismissal option when registering for a FAST class. (ASP, Walker, or FAST Carpool) Your student will be dismissed this way on FAST day unless you send a note changing their dismissal.
- *Please be prepared to provide your carpool number during registration!
- All Sope Creek dismissal guidelines apply to FAST dismissal.
- Students who attend FAST classes NO LONGER HAVE TO BE REGISTERED FOR ASP!
- We respectfully request your help with ASP. Just like many other businesses across the nation, they too are experiencing staffing shortages. Please only plan to send your child to ASP after FAST if your child normally attends ASP and/or you truly need this service and cannot pick your child up by 3:55. Thank you for helping us with this!
When do you need to send in a dismissal/transportation change note?
The student is NOT attending the FAST class that day:
- Send or bring a handwritten note to school. Please include the following details in the note:
- Child's Name
- Homeroom Teacher
- FAST Teacher
- Date(s) that your child is not attending FAST
- What they are doing instead of going to FAST (carpool, walker, ASP, bus)

- Child's Name
- Homeroom Teacher
- FAST Teacher
- Date(s) that this change in transportation applies to
- What is the change to their transportation (carpool, walker, ASP, bus)
- If you are changing from ASP or walker TO car rider, then list your carpool number. Families MUST have a carpool number to be dismissed in carpool.
You need to make a permanent change to your FAST dismissal choice:
- Send or bring a handwritten note to school. Please include the following details in the note:
- Child's Name
- Homeroom Teacher
- FAST Teacher
- Include that this is a PERMANENT change and date it is effective
- What is the change to their transportation (carpool, walker, ASP, bus)
- If you are changing from ASP or walker TO car rider, then list your carpool number. Families MUST have a carpool number to be dismissed in carpool.
All transportations changes MUST be made by 1:45 pm.
Changes cannot be made by phone or email.
The same behavior expectations apply in FAST classes as during the regular school day. All Cobb County School District policies in the student handbook apply to each FAST class. Inappropriate behavior will result in the student’s withdrawal from the FAST class. A refund will NOT be given. Students will be withdrawn from FAST classes for the following reasons:
- 2 late arrivals to the FAST class
- Discipline problems
Once a registration for a FAST class is completed, and payment processed, there is a no-cancellation and no-refund policy even if the registration window is still open.
Inclement weather:
- If the school closes for inclement weather during the school day, all afternoon FAST classes will be canceled.
- There will be no make-up classes or refunds for inclement weather cancellations.
School closures:
- If school closes for an extended length of time and/or FAST classes are unable to continue in person due to unforeseen circumstances, FAST classes will not be taught virtually.
- There will be no make-up classes and no refunds will be issued for unfinished classes due to school closures.
