Class Descriptions:
MONDAY
Advanced Art Smart
Does your child love art or want to improve their art skills? The purpose of Art Smart is to provide your student an opportunity to explore art through directed drawing and different art mediums. Art Smart helps to develop motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and has a large impact on their social and emotional growth. It also enhances their creativity and love of art! Weekly artwork will be taken home each week. Each participant will receive an Art Smart bag of supplies.
Blast into Space!
Blast off far, far away to discover all about space, the solar system, and the galaxy it's in! Students will launch into the excitement of current space adventures, including NASA's Artemis II mission, while engaging in hands on activities. Students will create and build space shuttles, galaxy slime, solar system mobiles, star constellations, space landers, and more! Students will step into the world of astronauts as they receive their own NASA access pass, experience what it's like walking on the moon, and even sample astronaut food. Join Mrs. Voss and Mrs. Shortland for an out of this world experience of space discovery!
Crafty Crew
In the Crafty Crew FAST class, students will explore hands-on craft projects like tie-dye, mosaics, and friendship bracelets while building creativity and new skills. Students will work independently and with others, use a variety of materials, and take home their creations in a fun, supportive environment.
Design Studio:Theme Park
Do you love theme parks and the art of design? Step behind the scenes and discover how professional designers bring the world's most incredible theme parks to life! Welcome to Design Studio, a creative studio where you become the Lead Designer. This semester, we are diving deep into the storytelling required to build a world-class theme park destination from the ground up. You will step into the shoes of a lead designer to brainstorm, draw, and map out a master plan for your very own theme park. From sketching blueprints for thrill rides to designing custom snack menus, you will create a full guide for a park that doesn't even exist yet! Join the Design Studio and train to become a future designer in this exciting, creative FAST class.
Doodle and Design
In this fun and imaginative class, first and second graders will learn how to turn simple doodles into creative drawings! Students will start with basic shapes and scribbles, then use their imagination to transform them into pictures of animals, characters, and scenes. Along the way, they will explore different drawing techniques, add details, and build confidence in their artistic skills.
Hip Hop Homies
Does your child like to move and groove? Do they have trouble sitting still when music starts to play? If so, Hip Hop Homies is the class for them! In this class students will be learning different hip hop moves, stretches and terminology! Students will have fun dancing to some of the radio's top (school appropriate) hits. Join us and become one of our homies!
Keyology (K-2)
Why learn how to play piano? Playing piano improves cognitive development, academic skills and coordination, language skills and literacy. Playing piano is a major stress reducer and makes a big impact on one's health. This course will concentrate on developing student musicality while developing social skills at the same time. As students learn from each other they develop confidence about performing in front of others. They stimulate each other's practice. Students will learn how to read notes, play simple songs, write and create music in connection with music concepts, theory and history of music. *Each student will be provided with an individual keyboard and headphones. Repertoire and Instructions are differentiated based on student performance level and ability. About teacher: Mrs. Eristavi completed a master's in music education and is proficient in piano and accordion.
Kickball Kids
Does your child like sports? Do they like working with a team? Then Kickball Kids is the FAST Club for them! After a long day at school have your child come and get some of their energy out at Kickball Kids. Your child will have a blast learning the rules of the game while playing with friends. Exercise is a great way to get fit, decrease stress, and increase focus. On days with bad weather, we will play other fun team games. Come be a part of the Sope Creek Kickball Team!
Soccer Stars
Soccer Stars is the perfect place for your aspiring soccer player! This beginning level club will focus on all the basics. Dribbling, shooting, trapping, scrimmage games, athletic conditioning and more! Soccer enhances focus, aerobic capacity, team work and cardiovascular health. I am so excited to share this time with your students! Students should wear athletic clothing and closed toed sneakers on class days. Students are invited to bring their own soccer ball on Mondays, which they can leave with Ms. Smith for the semester and then have returned at the end of the course; or students can bring each Monday. Learn a new sport all while enhancing fitness and having fun! If you already play soccer or have participated in the past; join the fun for some extra practice! Soccer Stars classes vary from semester to semester. Be sure to sign up early so you don't miss out!
Typing Club
Typing Club is a fun and engaging club where students build confidence and speed on the keyboard while developing a valuable lifelong skill. Through interactive lessons, games, and challenges, students will practice proper finger placement, improve accuracy, and increase typing speed. Whether they are beginners or experienced typists, Typing Club is the perfect place to sharpen skills, monitor improvement, and have fun while mastering the keyboard!
The class fee includes 24/7 access to each student's personalized typing skills site license, giving them unlimited access to advanced exercises, progress tracking, and the ability to practice anytime. Full use of provided laptops is available during class sessions.
Weaving 101
Beginning Weaving is a creative, hands-on class where students learn the basics of weaving using simple tools and materials. They will explore patterns, textures, and color while creating their own woven projects. Students build patience, focus, and fine motor skills as they design and complete unique pieces to take home.

Cardio Sharp Junior
Physically fit students perform better academically, behave better at school and home, and are simply more comfortable in their own skin. While we know the roles diet, homework, and sleep play in "˜powering up" a student's "network" for the classroom, the last 20 years of scientific research has revealed a new, major player in the "ready to learn" domain -“ cardiovascular fitness. Cardio Sharp is driven by this relationship between enthusiastic, vigorous play and cognitive and behavioral development. Modified games, sports, and challenges equip students with exciting, efficient tools for realizing the promises of cardiovascular conditioning. Crafty Kids
Do you love to make things with your hands, use your imagination, and get creative? Come join the Craft Club! We'll be painting, gluing, folding, and building all kinds of fun projects together. Crypto Club
Calling all young codebreakers and secret agents! Step into the mysterious world of puzzles, patterns, and hidden messages with Crypto Club! This isn't just any fast class, it's your gateway to becoming a master decoder. As a NASA Junior Cryptographer, you'll crack extraterrestrial ciphers, decode mysterious alien transmissions, and uncover secret languages from beyond the stars! Each weekly mission brings a new challenge and moves you one step closer to uncovering the aliens' secret plan to take over the Earth. Gain top level clearance by outsmarting the sneakiest of codes and have a blast doing it with your fellow team of cryptographers.
Price includes cipher wheels, 24/7 Crypto Club website access, and all mission materials.
iCreate
iCreate will offer computer coding, Little Bits programming and engineering, 3-D printing with Computer-aided Design (CAD), app creation, and much more. Students will be encouraged to continue projects week to week. We will also utilize various robots and block coding which will lead to Java and/or Python coding. iCreate will be innovative, creative, and fun. Students will receive their own 3-D created object, laptop stickers, and more.

KPOP KIDS
Get ready to dance, play, and learn all about the exciting world of K-Pop! In KPOP KIDS, students will explore popular K-Pop groups, songs, and trends while discovering what makes this global music phenomenon so special. Each week, students will learn about different K-Pop groups and their hit songs, play games inspired by K-Pop idols and Korean variety shows, create awesome K-Pop crafts like light sticks, fan banners, and photo cards, explore K-Pop culture, fan traditions, and common Korean terms used by fans. Whether you're a longtime fan or brand new to K-Pop, this club is the perfect place to share your enthusiasm, make new friends, and have a blast celebrating music, creativity, and culture!
Lego Robotics (2-3)
In this hands-on robotics class, students will build and program their own robots while learning to think like engineers and problem-solvers. Using LEGO Education kits and simple coding, students will take on fun challenges like creating a race car, a dancing robot, or a machine that can complete a mystery mission. Through creativity, teamwork, and lots of trial and error, students will learn the basics of robotics, coding, and engineering in a fun and supportive environment. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to try!
Run Club (K-2)
K-2 Run Club is all about fun, movement and building healthy habits! Students will participate in activities like stretching, short runs, obstacle courses and relay games. This will develop coordination and confidence in the sport of running!
The Clay Cottage (3-5)
Back by popular demand! Step into a cozy, creative space where imagination takes shape! The Clay Cottage is an engaging afterschool class designed for students to explore the art of working with clay in a fun and supportive environment. Through hands-on projects, students will experiment with a variety of clay types and techniques, learning how to mold, sculpt, and design their own unique creations. Whether your child is new to clay or already loves crafting, The Clay Cottage offers a warm, inspiring place to create, explore, and have fun.

Brick Builders
Brick Builders is a hands-on class where students use building bricks to design, create, and problem-solve. Through fun challenges and collaborative projects, students develop creativity, teamwork, and basic engineering skills while bringing their ideas to life. Karate Kids
Through the Karate Kids program, your child will learn the basics of traditional Karate including punches, kicks, blocks, self-defense, cardio training and forms. This program is sure to enhance your students level of focus, discipline, respect and self-confidence. We will also focus on topics such as anti-bullying, building self-esteem, creating a positive mindset, and becoming a lifelong learner. Ms. Smith is a third degree black belt, a World Champion competitor in traditional forms and fighting and has over 25 years experience training in martial arts and teaching children. She has competed in Switzerland, Canada, and across the US in karate tournaments. Fun fact: This year will be the 10th year Ms. Smith has taught the Karate Kids program at Sope Creek! For a fun afternoon of karate training join Karate Kids today! Karate Kids classes vary from semester to semester. If your student has been enrolled previously, they will continue their training as well as learn new techniques! We will be studying Japanese, Yoshukai Karate. All students should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers for class. Be sure to sign up quickly so you don't miss out!
Lego Robotics (4-5)
Take robotics to the next level! In this class, students will build, code, and problem-solve using more advanced robotics tools and programming. We'll explore how robots can be designed to complete specific tasks while strengthening skills in coding, critical thinking, and engineering design. Students will work through challenges that require planning, testing, and refining their ideas. This class is great for students ready to dig deeper into coding and robotics concepts. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to try!
Run Club (3-5)
3-5 Run Club helps students build endurance, set goals and challenge themselves in a fun and motivating way! Runners will practice pacing, track their progress and participate in fitness activities. Students will build a strong sense of accomplishment, while emphasizing teamwork and the enjoyment of staying active!
Sweet Creations
Sweet Creations is a fun treat-making club where each week feels like stepping into your favorite confectionery! Students will mix, roll, dip, drizzle, and decorate as they create their own delicious sweets. They will become mini bakers and candy makers as they learn simple baking skills. We will whip up yummy creations like cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, chocolate dipped surprises, and other delightful treats. As a friendly note for families: This club involves handling a variety of treats and ingredients; therefore, it may not be a good fit for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Get ready to think creatively, work together, and take on exciting STEAM challenges!
Come join us in the IDEA LAB, where students will use problem-solving and higher-level thinking to design, build, and experiment both indoors and outdoors. You'll team up with friends to take on exciting STEAM challenges that stretch your imagination and innovation. From building and designing to experimenting and exploring, you'll learn to look at problems in new and innovative ways. As you create, collaborate, and have fun, you'll grow your higher-level thinking skills and discover just how powerful your ideas can be!
Collaboration and teamwork are key as we explore fun, hands-on activities that stretch our ingenuity and challenge us to find creative solutions in new and unexpected ways!

Scene Stealers
We're baaaaaack for season 3 of Scene Stealers! Do you have a flair for the dramatic? Do you like to act? Then join the Scene Stealers! Each week, you will develop skills in acting and improvisation. Let your creativity soar as you use your imagination to react and respond to your scene partners. Not only will you learn how to think on your feet, you will also hone your critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. Students will work in groups to create skits and develop scripts. Join the Scene Stealers and get ready to SHINE!
